We are delighted to announce that our Founder and Creative Director, Gini Graham Scott, will have two new games by Briarpatch introduced at the American Toy Fair in February. She has recently been hired as a consultant on the game and toy industry by the Network of Advisors, which provides financial clients with insights into the latest industry developments through private and phone consultations, on-line surveys, and lecture forums. She was a panelist and moderator on a licensing program, Pitching to the Pros, at the American International Toy Fair sponsored by the Toy Industry Association in New York February 11-15. The Game and Toy Connection had a booth at the Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA) show in Las Vegas March 13-16.
We are also pleased to announce that this services is nearly 1 year old, since we launched the site in November 2005. It is the latest of our growing connection services. Our first service, PublishersAndAgents.net, was started almost 4 years ago in January 2003 and has expanded to the film industry (ScreenplayWritersConnection), music industry (SongWritingConnection), media and speaking industry (NewsMediaConnection), venture capitalists (VentureCapitalConnection), and any type of business connection (TheBusinessConnection).
We have used the service ourselves to find two agents for a half-dozen games, arrange manufacturing for games, and find a game publisher with a booth to share at the GAMA show in Las Vegas. Beside signing two games to Briarpatch to be introduced in 2007, other sales to major manufacturers are pending. One client used the service to license a series of games and stuffed toy characters based on a new book and video. Another used it to set up presentations to dozens of game manufacturers. And recently, representatives for a delegation of senior executive from Hong Kong used the service to contact game manufacturers about licensing popular characters in animation series.
